The controllable atmosphere furnace is the main heat treatment equipment widely used in the heat treatment industry at present. It can perform heat treatment operations such as atmosphere protection heating, quenching and tempering, carburizing, and hydrocarbon co-infiltration. It has the advantages of less heating without oxygen, and chemical heat treatment. However, this equipment consumes a large amount of process accessories and the production cost is relatively high. The controllable atmosphere furnace equipment imported from the United States in the 1980s in China's petrochemical and automobile manufacturing industries is more obvious than the similarly used equipment made in Europe and Japan.
At present, the atmosphere used in the controlled atmosphere furnace mainly includes the endothermic atmosphere furnace. The control principle is that the carbon potential control of the controlled atmosphere furnace is to control and adjust the carbon content in the furnace atmosphere composition under a certain temperature and furnace pressure. It achieves an atmosphere that is balanced with the carbon content of a certain steel, or controls the furnace atmosphere to make the steel reach the carbon content required by the process, that is, under a certain temperature, the furnace atmosphere and the carbon content of the steel reach a dynamic balance. The carbon content is called the carbon potential of the furnace atmosphere.
Of course, what we need to pay attention to when using the atmosphere furnace is to properly adjust the carburization and the methanol flow during the tempering, which can well control the internal carbon potential and meet the technical requirements of different process conditions; by adjusting the methanol flow in a timely manner, we ensure that Under the condition of heat treatment quality, a large amount of methanol flow can be saved, thereby reducing production costs, reducing exhaust gas emissions, and using environmental protection.
